About Dave
Dave Tiberi is a lifelong Delaware community advocate whose leadership spans public safety, nonprofit service, youth development, and homelessness outreach. While he earned international recognition as a professional boxer, Dave is best known in Delaware for his decades-long commitment to serving others and addressing some of the community’s most complex challenges.
Dave serves as President of Donate Delaware, an organization created to respond to urgent community needs—most notably during the COVID-19 pandemic to support healthcare workers and first responders. He also founded Delaware Decision Makers, a monthly networking initiative bringing together leaders committed to positive change.
A tireless community servant, Dave is on the list of The 50 Most Influential Delawareans of The Past 50 Years. He has served on numerous boards including the Sunday Breakfast Mission Homeless Shelter, St. Francis Hospital Foundation, Delaware Boys and Girls Clubs, Delaware Police Chiefs Foundation, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Leadership Delaware. He also co-founded and volunteered for 22 years at The Dave Tiberi Youth Center and has served as a self-defense instructor at the Delaware State Police Academy for 29 years.
Before his community leadership career, Dave was a standout boxer—winning two Pennsylvania Golden Gloves titles, competing internationally with a U.S. team, ranking in the top 10 globally in his weight class, and becoming Delaware’s first professional boxing champion in 1991. Long retired from the ring, Dave continues to fight for the poor, underserved, and those in crisis across Delaware.
