Celebrating Our Community: The Hope4Homelessness 5K

Our first annual Hope4Homelessness 5K brought the community together in an inspiring way. On November 15 at Rockford Park, runners, walkers, and cheering supporters helped make the event a success. With 184 participants, the spirit of hope and solidarity was felt from start to finish.

We’re sincerely grateful to our generous sponsors—your support helped ensure this event made a meaningful impact: Coniglio Chiropractic Center, Fulton Bank, Episcopal Church of Saints Andrew & Matthew, Ward & Taylor Real Estate Attorneys, Cinnaire, Mike DiFonzio/REMAX, Delaware Council of Gambling Problems, Sancta Familia Council, Wayman Fire Protection, Leon Weiner & Associates, Done Right Today, and Delta Volunteers.

“Since coming to Sojourners’ Place, I truly feel like my life has been saved. Being surrounded by positive influences has given me the clarity I needed to refocus on my recovery and personal growth. My health has improved significantly—I’ve even been able to lower my A1C—and I credit the caring staff, the structure of the program, and staying active in meetings for helping me get here. The group topics challenge my old belief systems and ‘stinking thinking,’ giving me new perspectives and healthier coping strategies. I’m grateful for the progress I’m making, and I’m excited to maintain steady employment while working toward my next big goal: becoming a homeowner and building long-term stability.”
