Sojourners’ Place Announces Appointment of Morgan Ikonne as Executive Director

Sojourners’ Place has announced the appointment of Morgan Ikonne as its new Executive Director.

Ikonne brings over 15 years of experience in community health care and human services to Sojourners’ Place, with a focus on substance abuse recovery, mental health care, and faith-based leadership. Most recently, he served as Executive Director of New Life Foundation Recovery Inc., where he led clinical and organizational initiatives supporting individuals and families impacted by addiction and behavioral health challenges.

“Morgan’s deep clinical expertise, strong leadership background, and compassionate, evidence-based approach will help expand our role in addressing homelessness in Delaware,” said Theresa DiFonzo, Board Chair at Sojourners Place. “His commitment to empowering individuals aligns with our mission of supporting residents transition to independent living and as contributing members of our community.”

Ikonne holds a Master of Science in Cognitive Behavioral Psychology from the University of Phoenix, where he is currently a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) candidate. He also holds a Master of Divinity from United Theological Seminary in Nigeria and a Bachelor of Arts in Theology & Religion. He is the Vice President of the Board of Directors at the Delaware Council on Gambling Problems and has been widely recognized for his commitment to diversity, unconditional positive regard, and faith-based service.

Morgan Ikonne officially began his role as Executive Director on March 24, 2025.
